'This Woman's Work' Monotype 2024
£330.00
This is an unframed, original, signed monotype.
I love the fragility of the net, which is partywear, an underskirt perhaps - the fraying threads hinting at labour. The demurely clasped hands (which are carved from a cranberry juice tetrapak carton) made me think of Cinderella, resignation, resting and perhaps expresses the wearyness of a domestic martyr.
It all feeds in to the image....
The title is inspired by one of my favourite songs by Kate Bush.
A wistful, romantic print in sea green, indigo and earth tones that was selected for the Tutors exhibition at Oundle Gallery and Curwen Gallery in 2025.
