Abstract Monoprinting Workshop

When: Monday MARCH 23rd 2026, 7-9pm

We kick off this fun session with a fun Bilateral drawing exercise that engages both hemispheres of the brain get us into artistic mode.

After that, Jessica will introduce you to the wonders of Abstract Mono Printing. Using acrylic paints and watercolours on glass panels, you'll create unique monotypes and learn how to use masking and mark making in the creation of your abstract masterpieces (they don't have to be abstract - but it can take the pressure off if you are trying this for the first time!)
This method of monoprinting was developed in lock down when there was no access to a press - it's easy to set up and recreate at home. We use absorbant lining paper as its cheap and plentiful for this technique - you'll make lots of pieces!

This is a relaxing, tactile and social workshop with no pressure on perfection!
All materials and equipment provided. Soft drinks are provided.
We will be using acrylic paints, so bring an apron or painting shirt to protect your clothing.
*Please note The Old Sun Inn on Church St, Saffron Walden is a medieval building with uneven floor levels and a stepped entrance. Use the corner door entrance.
